FOX 12 and Les Schwab Tire Centers hope to help children and families with donations of new, unwrapped toys that will be distributed through a network of local non-profit agencies this holiday season, and we're hoping local high school students can lend a helping hand!
Here’s how it works:
- High Schools collect new, unwrapped toys Oct. 1-19. During this time, toys must be collected/stored at your high school. If needed, you can pick up collection bags from FOX 12 or your local participating Les Schwab Tire Centers.
- Between Oct. 20-24, a school official must count and then record the number of toys collected on the official entry form. Schools are responsible for delivering the new toys to FOX 12 or your nearest participating Les Schwab Tire Center location by October 24th.
- A representative with FOX 12 or a participating Les Schwab Tire Center will sign the official entry form to verify the donation. PLEASE NOTE: If you make your donation drop at a participating Les Schwab Tire Center, you will still need to make sure your official entry form is faxed to 503.548.6915 OR emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- All entries must be received by Oct. 24. The winning schools will be announced on Oct. 26 during Friday Night Lights on FOX 12.
A total of SIX high schools (Oregon/SW Washington) that collect the most new, unwrapped toys will win $1,500 from Les Schwab Tire Centers. High schools within FOX 12’s viewing area will compete against other high schools of similar size. Winnings may be utilized at the high school’s discretion (student scholarships, sports or arts programs, etc). Each school competes against the rest of the schools in their own OSAA classification, as well as the Washington equivalent:
- Oregon 1A/Washington 1B
- Oregon 2A/Washington 2B
- Oregon 3A/Washington 1A
- Oregon 4A/Washington 2A
- Oregon 5A/Washington 3A
- Oregon 6A/Washington 4A
Take this information to your high school principal to get involved in a rewarding community service project and help make the holidays of our local children a little brighter.
