Santa Clara, CA -- (Sports Network) - John Bryant notched a double-double with 22 points and 21 rebounds, as the Santa Clara Broncos outlasted the University of Portland Pilots, 67-65, in overtime of West Coast Conference matchup at the Leavey Center. James Rahon turned in 16 points and five boards for SCU (15-16, 7-7 WCC), while Marc Trasolini added 12 points and seven boards. Kevin Foster contributed 10 points, although he went just 1-of-8 from downtown and had seven turnovers. For the Pilots (18-11, 9-5), T.J. Campbell scored 15 points and dished out five assists, and Nic Raivio had 11 points and seven boards in the losing effort. Portland made good on 45.5 percent of its total shots in the opening half and went into the break ahead, 28-24. SCU rallied in the second half and the Pilots need a free-throw by Raivio with 58 seconds left to tie the score at 55-55 and force overtime. The Broncos had a couple of chances to win it, but could not convert in the final moments. Bryant broke a 61-61 tie on layup with 56 seconds remaining in overtime and the Broncos would not relinquish that lead in the eventual two-point win. The game was decided at the charity stripe, where SCU went 26-of-30 compared to just 12-of-23 by Portland.
