NCAA Game Summary - Pepperdine Vs. Portland

(Sports Network) - Nik Raivio's 16-point performance pushed the third-seeded Pilots into the next round of the West Coast Conference Tournament, as Portland defeated the sixth-seeded Pepperdine Waves, 69-45, in a quarterfinal matchup at the Orleans Arena.

Jared Stohl added 13 points for Portland (19-11), while B. J. Porter tallied 11 points in the win.

As for Pepperdine (9-23), only Keion Bell finished with double-figures, as the guard posted 14 points in the loss.

The Pilots flew into the break with a commanding 36-16 lead, thanks to a sizzling 57.1 percent shooting effort that included an equally impressive 6- of-11 clip from long range.

In the second frame Portland limited Pepperdine to a meager 30.0 percent shooting display and went on to win by a 24-point margin.

The Pilots made 10-of-22 attempts from behind the arc, while the Waves connected on just 1-of-14 shots from long range.

Portland's bench tallied 36 points in the contest, while Pepperdine's reserves tallied just 12 points.

The Pilots will now have to deal with the second-seeded Saint Mary's Gaels this Sunday night in semifinal round action.
