Report: UCLA QB Olson Breaks Foot

POSTED: 1:29 am PDT August 11, 2008

(Sports Network) - UCLA senior starting quarterback Ben Olson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during practice Saturday and is expected to miss up to eight weeks with the injury, according to a report on the Seattle Times web site Sunday.

Olson, 25, suffered the very same injury April 24. X-rays taken Sunday revealed the fracture and a decision on surgery will be made in the coming days.

Olson's latest injury is one of many that have plagued the signal-caller's UCLA career. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder missed five games last season with a variety of ailments including a knee injury that forced him to miss four weeks. He was severely limited in three other contests as the Bruins finished a disappointing 6-7 (5-4 Pac-10).
