MySpace Threat Mentioned Barlow, School Says

UPDATED: 10:58 am PST November 24, 2009

A threat targeting Sam Barlow High School was found on a former student's MySpace page, authorities said Monday.

According to the school's principal, a parent found the message online and it threatened violence against the school.

The parent called Gresham police and officers visited the former student's home.

Barlow students said they can't find a reason someone would want to threaten the school.

"I don't know why someone would do that," said Theo Ruuemau, a Barlow student. "We're here to learn. People out there, I guess, don't want us to learn or something."

The school increased its security, but students finished the day as usual without any problems.

Authorities did not announce any arrests Monday.
