A Portland band's trip to Los Angeles came to a halt Sunday when their van overturned on Interstate 5.

David Frederickson, lead singer of The Prids, was behind the wheel when a tire blew out. Frederickson lost control, drifted into the center median and the van overturned.

All five people in the van suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

A posting on the The Prids' Web site said Frederickson suffered a broken collar bone, broken ribs and received six staples in his head.

California Highway Patrol said drugs and alcohol weren't involved in the wreck. Everyone in the vehicle was wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Band members said they need money to get back to Portland and to pay hospital bills. You can donate to a PayPal account through their Web site at theprids.com.
