An annual fixture for bargain hunters in Portland will mark down its final items this weekend.

The 65th and final Catlin Gabel Rummage Sale starts Thursday.

The popular tradition typically raises more than $150,000 from donated items. All money raised goes toward student financial aid.

Lesley Sepetoski, the school's spokeswoman, said changing technology has contributed to the demise of the sale.

"It is hard to say goodbye but it's a sign of the times," Sepetoski said. "We have a lot of competition from retail's low-cost marketing, eBay, Craigslist and all kinds of things. But that hasn't stopped our donors from making a fabulous sale for this year."

The sale features everything from clothing and jewelry to electronics and toys. There are three football fields worth of items and the sale typically brings in 13,000 customers. It's being held at the Portland Expo Center at 2060 North Marine Drive.

Rummage sale schedule:
Thursday: 5 to 9 p.m. -- 35 percent mark-up on all items
Friday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. -- 25 percent discount all day
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- 50 percent discount all day
