A thief recently swiped utility bills and payments for tickets from a city of Forest Grove drop-off box.

A motion-triggered camera caught a bicyclist stealing about 50 checks.

Police said they're now worried about identity theft. A man who works nearby said he's also concerned about the missing checks.

"Naturally, if they got that information, I'd be a little concerned. Anytime something like that happens, we know it's unfortunate," said Rob Foster.

Police said people should check with the city to find out if their check was stolen. If it was, officers said people need to contact their banks.
