SALEM, Ore. -- Marion County authorities are investigating a home invasion and robbery that occurred Thursday night in northeast Salem.Deputies said two people, at least one of them a white man, broke into a home on Carolina Avenue Northeast and held an elderly man who lives there against his will.The men showed a pistol and robbed 73-year-old Fritz Wegscheider at about 11 p.m., authorities said.The men stole several guns from Wegscheider's home, including two revolvers, a semi-automatic handgun, five rifles and a 12-gauge shotgun.They also stole a heavy gold necklace, a diamond ring and thousands of dollars in Euros that he had leftover from a trip to Europe.Wegscheider told deputies that one of the men was white with a medium build, was in his 20s and was wearing beige clothing.No other information has been released, but deputies said they picked up several pieces of evidence at the scene.The incident is still being investigated and anyone with information is asked to call the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
