Man Crawls Through Drive-Up Window, Assaults Employee

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Deputies in Washington County said a man attacked an employee and attempted to rob a fast food restaurant using a drive-through window.Deputies said the robber entered the drive-through window of a McDonald's on Northwest Cornell Road, near Murray Boulevard, around 3 a.m. Saturday and demanded money from a female employee.According to deputies, the man and the 32-year-old woman got into some kind of a struggle and the man struck the woman in the head with an unknown weapon.The robber then fled, without any money, through a second drive-up window.
Two other employees in another area of the restaurant came to the aid of the woman when they heard sounds of fighting and screaming.The woman told deputies that she recognized the robber as someone who approached the drive-up window earlier that night with an older man.The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. She is expected to be OK."To have something go on in Cedar Mill this bad is horrifying, it really is," said neighbor identified as Laurie.Police searched the surrounding area with K-9 units but were unable to locate the man.The man is described as white, in his late 20s and around 5 feet 3 inches tall with blond hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and a light-gray T-shirt.The man that was believed to have been seen with the robber earlier that night was described as white and in his 60s with a gray beard and glasses.The vehicle both men were in was described as a purple or gray Kia sedan.
