Officers said the clerk refused to sell beer to Satele because he was intoxicated. Satele then became enraged, picking up cans of beans and sweet peas and throwing them at the clerk, police said. He chased the clerk through the store before being restrained, according to officers.

The clerk suffered facial bruises, lacerations and an eye fracture.

Satele was arrested without incident at a southeast Portland home Wednesday on one count of second-degree assault. There may be additional charges filed, according to police.
