TILLAMOOK, Ore. -- Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run collision that injured seven people.Police said they found Eric Ramirez, 19, and Carlos Jimenez-Balboa, 25, both from Portland, at a Greyhound bus station in Salem on Wednesday. The pair intended to leave the state on a bus Thursday, according to detectives.Ramirez is accused of driving a van that slammed into another man’s car on Highway 6 near Tillamook last weekend. The impact pushed the car into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by another vehicle.Seven people were taken to hospitals following the wreck. Police said Ramirez’s van was later found abandoned in Tillamook, about a mile from the crash scene.
Josh Dreweck was driving the car that was hit head-on.He was heading back to Forest Grove on Saturday night when a car came into their lane and hit him. His girlfriend, his brother and another man were all riding in the car with him.“I just started driving, and the rest of it kind of goes blank from there. I just remember waking up with all these people helping me out of this vehicle, and I guess my brother has said I was screaming. I hardly even remember that. I’m sure it was from all the pain,” Dreweck said.Dreweck said his left leg is broken in three places and so are some of his toes on that side as well as the tibia in his right leg.The other three in the car were less seriously injured.Ramirez is expected to appear in a Tillamook County Court on charges of driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and assault.Jimenez-Balboa will also appear in court on a charge of felony hit-and-run.Related:
