VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Vancouver police are asking for help finding an armed man who robbed a woman at a bus stop.Police said a man with a knife took a woman's duffel bag and threatened to stab her in the leg at the bus stop at Mill Plain Boulevard and Devine Road on Tuesday.Officers said the woman was waiting at the bus stop when a man came and sat down beside her. According to police reports, the man complimented her earrings and suddenly pulled a knife and pointed it at her. He ran off with the bag and police haven't found the robber. Some neighbors in the area said Thursday that they won't walk alone in the area, even during daylight hours.
"He won't even let me walk by myself," said Sharon Denman, who lives in the area. "It seems pretty quiet, but just anywhere anymore, it's pretty frightening."While neighbors said there hasn't been a lot of crime in the area, they hear it's getting worse."I think we're seeing a lot of daylight crimes," said Joanita Munoz, who lives in the neighborhood. "There's no rationale. There's no conscience for these people."Police described the robber as a light-skinned black man with blue eyes, a moustache and a goatee. He's 25 to 35 years old and about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build.Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Vancouver police.
