Police: Backpack Bandit Robbed Bank Twice

The man, who police are calling the Backpack Bandit, was wearing a Rocawear baseball cap in the Tuesday robbery and followed the same patterns of the previous crime.

He entered the bank wearing a backpack, presented a note demanding money and never displayed any weapon, police said.

In the previous robbery, which happened on Aug. 20, 2007, the man was wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball hat. He was described as a white man between 25 and 27 years old, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and brown hair.

Anyone with information about either of the robberies should call Detective Lawrence Zapata at 360-487-7420 or Detective Wally Stefan at 360-487-7425.
