PORTLAND, Ore. -- The FBI has offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the arsonist who burned down a Lebanon medical clinic. The fire, which was started sometime between the evening of Sept. 9 and the morning of Sept. 10, severely damaged the Pregnancy Alternative Center at 135 W. Vine St.One firefighter was hurt while fighting the blaze and had to be taken to a hospital for the injury to his leg, but he was treated and released the same day, police said.FBI Investigators still haven't determined what the motivation was for setting the fire, but officials said they are looking into all possibilities. Some theories are that the person or people who burned down the building may have falsely believed that the clinic provided abortion services or that they knew the clinic counseled against abortion, FBI officials said. The center is a Christian-based, nonprofit institution that provides free information, baby items and medical services to pregnant women.FBI officials said that despite these theories, all possibilities were being examined.Anyone with information about the arson should call the FBI in Eugene at 541-343-5222 during normal business hours, the FBI in Portland at 503-224-4181 24 hours a day, or the Lebanon Police Department at 541-258-4319.
