SALEM, Ore. -- Police in Carson City (Nev.) are trying to find a convicted sex offender who is also wanted in Oregon.

Philip Yoder, 56, hasn't checked in with his parole officer in more than two years, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. He's also wanted on outstanding rape charges.

Yoder was originally arrested on rape and sodomy charges in 2001. In a plea deal, Yoder was convicted of attempted sodomy later that year.

After 11 months behind bars, Yoder was released on seven years post-prison supervision.

The victim in the case spoke to FOX 12 in August. She created a MySpace profile for Yoder in an effort to help police track him down.

In Nevada, Carson City deputies said Yoder is wanted on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender. Investigators said they're releasing Yoder's description to the public.

He's described as 6 feet 4 inches tall, 270 pounds with red hair and glasses. Yoder, 56, is often accompanied by a black woman who is about 25 years old, according to authorities.

Anyone with information on Yoder's whereabouts is asked to call police.
