VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A Clark County couple says two men kicked their door in and stole money from them last week.Richard Sayles and his wife, Amber, said they were watching TV at 11:30 p.m. last Wednesday and expecting a friend to visit their Vancouver home."We heard two steps come up on the porch. We didn't react because we assumed it was her," Sayles said.Instead, two men showed up at their door.
"It was two steps and boom -- the door came flying open," Sayles said.Sayles said two men kicked in his front door and put a gun to his head. They demanded his money and took his wallet and his wife's purse, he said. They said the men were at the home for only a few minutes and they knew what to look for. The couple said the robbers struck while their children were sleeping in the next room. The couple said the friend they were expecting that night may know the men involved in the robbery."I believe the girl set it up," Sayles said. "She never called or showed up and asked why all the cops were everywhere."Sayles said he chased after the men when they left. He ran down Ward Road, but the men escaped."I don't want to go outside if it's dark and I don't want to be here without him," said Amber Sayles. "It's just terrible to live at."The couple is trying to track down the woman they believe to be involved. They said one of the robbers had a distinctive scar on his face. The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case.
