Women Went To 4 Stores In 45 Minutes, Deputies Say
Two women stole a purse and charged more than $1,000 to a woman's credit cards in less than 45 minutes, deputies said.Carmen J. Lowrie, 51, was shopping in a Ross Dress For Less in Happy Valley on June 10 at about 2:30 p.m. when her purse was stolen while she was distracted, Detective Jim Strovink said.Lowrie realized that her purse -- containing her identification and credit cards -- had been removed from her cart while shopping for handbags and sunglasses.She immediately told the store manager about the theft and called the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to report the theft of her purse and credit cards.Deputies suspect two women who were caught on surveillance video are responsible for the theft and a shopping spree at Target, GameStop, Walgreens and Dairy Queen, using the credit cards stolen from Lowrie, Strovink said.The women charged $1,320.17 worth of items in less than 45 minutes, Strovink said.The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office asked that anyone who knows the suspects' identities or whereabouts call the confidential tip line at 503-723-4949.Tips can also be sent by text message to CRIMES, or 274637 on your phone, with the word CCSO as the first word in the message body.
