Authorities are asking for help in finding a convicted predatory sex offender who they describe as "extremely violent."

Kevin Jackson was last known to have lived in the Old Town area of downtown Portland. The Board of Parole issued a warrant for his arrest Tuesday because he failed to report to his parole officer.

In August 1987, a 17-year-old girl waiting at a bus stop in north Portland was forced into a nearby garage, where Jackson raped and sexually abused her. Jackson was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but has since been paroled and jailed multiple times.

In addition to the rape sentence, Jackson has a long criminal history with convictions in New York for sex abuse, sodomy, burglary, unlawful imprisonment, robbery and possessing a dangerous weapon. He also has numerous other arrests and convictions in Utah, Colorado, Ohio, Minnesota, California and Pennsylvania.

His latest release came June 12 in Oregon, but he has failed to report to his parole officer, Multnomah County authorities said.

Jackson is described as black, 49 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has also used the name Keith Richey.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call local law enforcement.
