PORTLAND, Ore. -- Deputies said someone slashed the soft tops of three convertibles in the last week. Two of the slashings happened in a parking garage off Barnes Road and a third was reported at the Sunset Transit Center about a mile away, deputies said. The damage doesn't look severe, but the slashes several inches long above the driver's seats will cost thousands to repair, one of the victims said."I looked up to say goodbye to Rhonda and it's just kind of staring at you in the face," Sharon Hugelson said. The victims said they didn't have anything taken from inside their cars but said they're upset that they'll have to pay thousands to fix the damage and will be highly inconvenienced by the vandalism."I'll have to rent a car, I'll be out of...they think it's going to take at least two and a half, three days to repair the roof once the new one comes," a victim named Tess said.Authorities said they don't have many leads in the case since the vandals didn't steal anything. Hugelson said she doesn't understand why someone would go out of their way to cause that type of damage."(I'm) mad that there's people out there that don't have respect for other people's property," Hugelson said.Authorities said anyone with information about the vandalism should call police.
