LONGVIEW , Wash. -- Language barriers and a seriously injured victim slowed an investigation into a stabbing Sunday night in southwest Washington.Cowlitz County deputies said Amet Asencio-Marquez was stabbed in the chest at the Valley View apartments on 46th Avenue in Longview at about 10 p.m. Sunday. A helicopter rushed the victim to a Portland hospital for surgery. Many of the witnesses do not speak English and the victim was in no condition to talk Monday. As a result, no arrests have been made in the case, according to the sheriff's office.Neighbor Samantha Warren said she heard arguing on the far end of the apartment complex, where blood splattered on the door and on the ground remained visible Monday night."I would have never guessed that it turned into what it was because it just sounded like they were arguing and that was it," Warren said.Deputies haven't released any other information in the case, but they said Asencio-Marquez's car was towed from the scene. It's unclear if he was stabbed while in the parking lot or inside an apartment.Residents at the apartment complex said it's unnerving to see a violent crime in their neighborhood."It's a little too close to home," said Valerie Wahner, who lives nearby.Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office.
