In northwest Portland, lightning hit a utility pole and knocked wires onto the ground near Northwest Yeon and Kittridge avenues at about 2:45 a.m.

At 4:30 a.m., 3,600 Portland General Electric customers and 200 Clark County PUD customers were without power. Crews were able to restore power to nearly all the homes by 2:20 p.m.

People all across the Portland metro area were awakened by the thunder and lightning storms early Thursday.

Unlike storms over the weekend, in which two people were hit by lightning, there have been no reports of injuries from the storm.

While thunderstorms rolled through Portland for the second time in a week, more lightning isn't in the forecast.

For Fourth of July, there's a slight chance of showers in the Portland area during the morning. It's expected to be partly cloudy in the evening and mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight.
