The mother of a girl who was killed in a park said she wants the person responsible for her daughter's death to be caught.

Jefferson High School senior Borisshell Washington was at a park in southeast Portland attending a barbecue on May 31 when someone fired off gunshots, killing her.

Two days after the shooting they arrested a man but cleared him just a few days later.

Portland police are still searching for the shooter and said they are working to get new leads on the case.

Washington's mother said it's difficult knowing the person who killed her daughter is still free.

"It's frustrating, that person needs to step forward turn themself in, face what they've done. They took something that was very, very precious. They just don't know. They just don't know what they took from me," Borisshell's mother, Sara Issac, said.

Police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information that may help them find a suspect should call Portland police.
