Deputies said they arrested a man Thursday in connection with a bank robbery after K-9 units led them to an apartment complex where he was found.

Deputies arrested Brett Johnson, 49, at the Montclair Apartments on Southwest Oleson Road as he exited an apartment and tried to get in a car, Sgt. David Thompson said.

Witnesses identified Johnson as the man who robbed the Wells Fargo at 6785 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway at about 5:45 p.m., Thompson said. The robber wore a red bandana over his face and said he had a gun, although he never showed one.

Deputies checked the apartment Johnson came out of and found a man, woman and 5-year-old child along with evidence of drug use, Thompson said.

Coty Macdonald, 24, and Angelique Debruhl, 28, were arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and the child was taken into protective custody.
