A father and son found dead inside a McMinnville apartment Saturday morning were the result of a murder-suicide, police said.

Officers from the McMinnville Police Department were called to 915 SW Cozine Lane at 10:30 a.m. to investigate. When they arrived, they found the bodies of Thomas Marshall, 58, and Sean Marshall, 22.

Thomas Marshall appeared to have died of a single gunshot wound to the head, police said. An autopsy showed that his son, Sean Marshall, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Investigators from the McMinnville Police Department said it appears that Sean Marshall shot his father and then took his own life. They said the gun used in the incident was recovered at the scene and all other evidence supports the murder-suicide conclusion.

Sean Marshall was a 2005 McMinnville High School graduate and avid skateboarder and musician. His father would have turned 59 Monday. Police told the McMinnville News-Register both lived in the apartment
