Position Summary:

The Producer is responsible for planning, producing, and executing the 4:00pm news.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise news personnel in all phases of producing evening newscasts.

Oversee production of News, including all graphics, writing, teases, and editing.

Assist the Executive Producer with planning and executing the goals and objectives of the evening newscasts.

Proofread all scripts written for broadcast.

Perform all duties and tasks assigned by the News Director/Assistant News Director/Executive Producer.

Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.

Four-year college/university degree in related field preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in producing television news in a commercial television station.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent writing and copy editing skills.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with others in verbal and written form.

Ability to motivate employees to produce and execute an accurate, informative, and creative newscast.

Must be willing to work flexible schedule.
