Veteran Lefty Rogers Files For Free Agency

(Sports Network) - Veteran hurler Kenny Rogers was the only player to file for free agency on Tuesday.

The 20-year journeyman went 9-13 last season in 30 starts for the Detroit Tigers, his third year with the club. His 5.70 earned run average was his highest since 2001, when he was tagged with a 6.19 ERA in 20 outings with the Texas Rangers.

The 44-year-old lefty has appeared in 762 games -- 474 career starts -- with Texas, Oakland, Minnesota, Detroit and both New York franchises, compiling a 219-156 record with a 4.27 ERA.

The filing period for potential free agents runs through Thursday, November 13.
