A Sweet Home couple returned $300,000 to Washington Mutual on Monday after the money was mistakenly deposited into their account.

Mary Cascio said she checked her bank account last week and found the extra money.

"I looked at it, kinda doubled taked, and couldn't believe how much," she said.

She said she noticed the six figures when she opened up her bank statement. She looked to make sure she wasn't dreaming and then called Washington Mutual.

"That's the last thing I want to be is in trouble and it's not my money either," Cascio said.

Cascio said she was told to call the local bank where the deposit was made; however, the bank was in Houston and it had already closed Friday.

Over the weekend, she was stuck with a problem most people would love to have.

"You would think that somebody, when you say it's a deposit over $300,000, would want to act on it," Cascio said. "But they just said it was my job."

On Monday, the Cascios said they were told a bank teller in Houston punched in one wrong number, which placed the $300,000 in their account.

Their reward for notifying the bank? A thank you from the teller.
