Audra Lowe is the New York host of "Better TV", a syndicated lifestyle show geared toward women.Audra helps bring new perspectives on health, entertainment, fashion and family life every day to viewers across the country.Prior to her move to the east coast, Audra worked in Los Angeles at Fox Sports as the host of "Foxwire", a sports update viewed by over a million sports fans a day and "FoxNOW", Fox Broadcasting's online entertainment update promoting new and returning shows on Fox. She also voices commercials and promos for Southern California radio stations.Audra's interviewing skills combine a fun and witty style, with the ability to make interviewees feel comfortable discussing an array of topics. Her interviews include a host of athletes to celebrities-including the 2007 NBA Draft and she was one of the first to interview the 2006 American Idol finalists for Fox. For 17 years, she's worked both in front of, and behind the camera, covering hard news, entertainment and sports-including the September 11th attacks, Oklahoma City bombing, the O.J. Simpson trial, the Rodney King verdict, American Idol, and NBA and NFL Drafts.
Audra has always known she wanted a career as a journalist. She couldn’t wait to begin her professional broadcasting career, and for 5 years, she was a radio news reporter while attending college at UC Santa Barbara and continued her broadcasting career at KEYT in Santa Barbara, moving to the L.A. market, landing her first job at KCAL-TV. Shortly thereafter, she landed an Associate Producing job at KADY-TV in Ventura, California that quickly turned into a reporting/anchoring job. Her career path includes positions with KNBC-TV, KABC-TV, ABC Entertainment, KCOP-TV, The Walt Disney Company, KNX Radio, Black Entertainment Television, American Idol on Fox, Fox Sports and Fox Broadcasting.Audra has spent the past 12 years conducting television news and reporting seminars, helping hundreds of aspiring journalists and athletes embark on a career in television. A large number of participants have landed prestigious jobs in TV and radio across the U.S. She also volunteers her time as Advisor and Director of Media Relations for the Center for Sports & Entertainment, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing skills of youth through exposure to, and preparation for, the diverse career options in the sports and entertainment industry.A native of Los Angeles, Audra holds two B.A's. from UC Santa Barbara and an M.A. from UCLA. She's a basketball, football and NASCAR fan. In her spare time, you'll find Audra busy working with community & charitable organizations, as a Board member of the UCSB Alumni Association, member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to name a few.
