Pacers Trade F Williams To Mavs, Extend Foster

POSTED: 2:55 pm PDT October 10, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Indiana Pacers traded forward Shawne Williams to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, in exchange for swingman Eddie Jones, two future second-round draft picks and cash.

Indiana also extended the contract of center Jeff Foster.

Williams was selected 17th overall by the Pacers in the 2006 draft out of Memphis, but has largely struggled. In 111 games -- six starts -- over two seasons, Williams has averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in a little less than 14 minutes per contest.

The veteran Jones -- who will turn 37 years old later this month -- has played in 14 NBA seasons with the Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Miami, Memphis Grizzlies and Mavericks. In 954 games, the former first-round pick owns lifetime averages of 14.8 points, 2.9 assists and 4.0 rebounds.

Foster, 31, has spent all nine of his seasons as a Pacer and averaged 5.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in 607 contests.
