Portland, OR -- (Sports Network) - Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday to repair a tear in the meniscus of his left knee, the club announced Wednesday.

An MRI taken Tuesday revealed the tear. The surgery will be performed by Trail Blazers team physician Dr. Don Roberts at the Southwest Washington Regional Surgery Center in Vancouver, Washington.

Roy averaged 19.1 points, 5.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 74 games for Portland last season.
