Police Look Into Possible Murder Case Connection In Fraud Investigation

Police are investigating whether a man wanted in connection with a fraud case is the same person who killed his mother 12 years ago.

Dominic Coons, 28, is a person of interest in a fraud case that has cost local retailers more than $50,000.

Police say Coons’ girlfriend, 26-year-old Jamie Bacon, has defrauded Nordstrom and several other retailers.

Police said they are investigating if Coons is actually Dominic Holmes, who stabbed his mother nearly 30 times in 1994.

According to prosecutors, Holmes had gone to school after washing his clothing in bleach to remove the blood.

Holmes was later arrested and prosecutors said he admitted to the crime. Holmes served four and a half years in the state’s youth correctional system and was released in 1999.

A former neighbor told FOX 12 that he believes Coons and Holmes are one and the same.

“To this day, that is the one question I’d like to know. Why? Because she was the nicest woman ever,” said a man who asked to be called Pete.

Anyone with information on Jamie Bacon or Dominic Coons is asked to contact Portland Police Bureau, east precinct.
