MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Authorities arrested two people who are being accused of a rash of recent robberies in the Portland and Salem area.Steven Stroud, 38, and Heather Nicole Pruitt, 25, were each arrested on robbery-related charges Wednesday during a traffic stop at 4524 S.E. Roethe Road in Milwaukie.Clackamas County authorities said Stroud and Pruitt worked together in conducting robbery events twice in January at a Subway restaurant in Happy Valley. They are also suspects in robberies at a Denny’s Restaurant and a Shari’s Restaurant.In addition, Portland police said they consider Stroud a suspect in five other robberies between Jan. 15 and Feb. 8. In each robbery, police said Stroud simulated a weapon and demanded money.Investigators said Pruitt and Stroud openly admitted to a heroin habit, which required $90 per day to sustain.Stroud and Pruitt were arraigned in Clackamas County Circuit Court on Thursday.
