Store Owner Wrestles Gun Away From Teen

MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- A store owner wrestled a gun away from a 15-year-old boy attempting to rob a Milwaukie market Thursday, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies said the teen approached the market counter to pay for a soda when the store owner noticed a gun. A fight for the weapon ensued, and the store owner was able to grab the gun, sheriff’s deputies said.When deputies arrived at the S-n-K Market on Southeast Thiessen Road at about 2:20 p.m., they said they found the 15-year-old boy on the ground while the store owner held him at gunpoint.Authorities said the store owner noticed the teen acting nervous before he approached the counter.A mask, gloves and a demand note were found by deputies while they were investigating the attempted robbery. They also said the black powder handgun used in the robbery was not loaded.
