Police Investigate TriMet Bus Stabbing

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The search is continuing for a man police said stabbed another man on a TriMet bus Friday evening.Officers said a verbal altercation led to the stabbing, and the person responsible exited the bus at Southeast 44th Avenue and East Burnside Street. Bus passengers didn’t notice the stabbing until the bus had stopped, according to officers.Police said the 40-year-old victim was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.The man responsible for the stabbing is described by police as black, 25 years old and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing sunglasses, a white do-rag, a black hooded sweatshirt and a white T-shirt.Detectives said the incident may have been captured on a surveillance camera inside the bus.Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call 503-823-0400.
