Searchers are crediting a cell phone signal with the safe return of a Florence, Ore. woman.

State police and Lane County deputies found 38-year-old Debra Pease Saturday morning using her cell phone.

Authorities said Debra Pease had been missing for about seven hours after her vehicle crashed off Highway 101 and into a small embankment just south of Florence.

Pease's husband, Dennis, contacted authorities when she failed to returned home from work.

Authorities said he tried to call her numerous times and she finally answered, saying she was trapped in her truck on an unknown road.

While keeping her on the phone, Dennis Pease notified state police. During that time, cell phone service provider Verizon was able to use her cell phone signal to narrow the call to an estimated 3-mile area.

State troopers found signs that a vehicle may have driven off the highway near Honeyman Memorial State Park and saw the pickup on its side.

Authorities said Debra Pease suffered a diabetic emergency, but she is expected to recover.
