A teacher at Chemawa Indian School was cited on marijuana charges Tuesday.

Marion County sheriff's deputies said they found a small baggie of marijuana at the Keizer home of Teresa Lapier.

Deputies said they were contacted by Jon Claymore, the school's administrator, who told them Lapier had marijuana.

Lapier, 47, was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. She was placed on paid administrative leave by the school.

Lapier is in her second year of teaching at the school.
