A confidential informant tipped Multnomah County investigators to the discovery of an alleged marijuana growing operation near a day-care center Friday.

A husband and wife could face marijuana possession and distribution charges after authorities said an estimated $53,760 worth of marijuana plants were found at their Gresham home.

A special investigations team said they found 21 marijuana plants in the basement of the home on Southeast 174th Avenue. Authorities said the plants could yield up to 10 ½ pounds of usable marijuana.

There were no arrests made at the home, but deputies said the case will be sent to a grand jury.

DeAnn Moore, 38, and Vince Moore, 45, are suspects in the operation, deputies said. Vince Moore was not home during the search because he was on a Boy Scout camping trip with the couple's 13- and 11-year-old sons, according to authorities.
