A Hillsboro teacher accused of stealing a student's coat and trying to sell it on eBay has pleaded not guilty.

Elizabeth Logan, 41, appeared in Washington County Circuit Court on Friday morning. She has been charged with one count of first-degree theft and one count of unlawful use of a computer.

The mother of the child said she was outraged when her daughter's Columbia Sportswear jacket appeared on eBay.

She said she had previously checked the lost and found and placed fliers around the school in search of the coat.

Logan was put on paid administrative leave following the allegations.

On Friday, supporters of Logan wore light purple ribbons in a show of solidarity at the court. Logan and the supporters did not comment to media.
