Arson investigators arrested three people in connection with several car fires in southeast Portland.

Denis Panichello, 27, Lena Thi Son, 19, and a juvenile were arrested Thursday.

Authorities said they are linked to seven cars, most of them compact sport utility vehicles, that were set on fire in a two-day span this week. Four cars were found ablaze early Tuesday morning and three more were found Wednesday.

Panichello, Son and the juvenile were charged with several counts of arson and one count of criminal mischief.

During the investigation, authorities said they were considering clues from past graffiti and vandalism cases in the area, and a possible connection to an eco-terrorism case in Eugene.
