Shooting Disrupts MAX Service; 2 Teens Arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Two teenagers have been arrested in a shooting that temporarily shut down MAX service in northeast Portland on Thursday.The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. on Northeast 82nd Avenue near Interstate 84. Police said they discovered two handguns that were recovered at the scene.On Friday, 16-year-old Daniel Binns and 16-year-old Erick Butler were both arrested in connection with the shooting.The two teens were charged with one count each of unauthorized possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless endangering, disorderly conduct and interfering with public transportation.The investigation into the shooting caused light rail service to shut down and 82nd Avenue to close in both directions on Thursday.There were no injuries reported in the shooting.
