A routine traffic stop Thursday night on Interstate 84 led authorities to a pound of methamphetamine and the arrest of two Portland residents, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers arrested Sandra Barahona and Arturo Robles Reyes just outside of Hood River around 7 p.m. Thursday.

OSP said a trooper pulled over a rented 2007 Toyota Solaro just outside Hood River around 7 p.m. Thursday night on suspicion of speeding and lane violations.

Troopers said the stop led to the discovery of 1 pound of crystal meth worth about $10,000 and $17,000 in cash in the passenger compartment.

The driver, 33-year-old Sandra Barahona, and the passenger, 21-year-old Arturo Robles Reyes, were taken into custody and transported to Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility in The Dalles on meth-related and money laundering charges.
