Statement From New Seasons Market: “The safety of our customers is our number one priority. New Seasons Market follows one of the most rigorous food safety programs in our industry. Over the past seven years we have had over twenty million customer visits and have never been notified by the Oregon Department of Agriculture of any food safety incidents at any of our stores.

“We have comprehensive systems in place to ensure that all products that have met their "best by" or "sell by" dates are removed from our shelves promptly. Although we're disappointed that we had a handful of items that were past date for sale, we recognize that with eight stores that are open fourteen hours a day and over thirty thousand products in stock, it's almost impossible to be perfect.

“We want to emphasize that the record shows our inspection systems, training and practices provide excellent food safety for our customers and we continue to be committed to constant improvement.”
