The spokesperson for WinCo foods, Mike Read in Boise, told FOX 12 that it is always their intention to rotate products by the dates provided by the manufacturers. He said that anyone who stocks the shelves is expected to rotate by dates, but that they also have a specific person whose job it is to monitor dates. He said that it is disappointing that a handful of items weren't pulled off, saying "That isn't what we do. We'd prefer to do a better job." However, he added that this project gives them the opportunity to address the issue because they always want to offer customers products that are fresh.
