Public Invited To Procession For Soldier, Dog

The bodies of an Oregon soldier and his canine companion are returning to home on Monday.

Army Cpl. Kory Wiens, 20, and his search dog Sgt. Cooper died July 6 while on patrol in Iraq.

Their remains are scheduled to arrive at 11:15 a.m. at Corvallis Municipal Airport.

A procession will follow to Dallas Mortuary Chapel in Dallas.

The public is welcome to attend the arrival and participate in the procession.

Wiens was from Independence, Ore., and attended West Albany High School.

Memorial services are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.
