The city of Portland could soon be facing a lawsuit from ex-Portland police chief Derrick Foxworth.FOX 12’s news partner at the Portland Tribune uncovered papers detailing the grounds for possible legal action against the city, including criticisms of Mayor Tom Potter’s handling of the controversy. In June 2006, Potter demoted Foxworth following the release of sexually explicit e-mails in legal notes to the city from the lawyer of a police bureau desk clerk, Angela Oswalt.Foxworth claimed Potter demoted him for having affair with a white woman and that it is a case of racial discrimination. You can read more about Foxworth’s accusations in Tuesday’s Portland Tribune, including how he thinks the city mishandled his case.Click here to visit Portland Tribune on-line.
