Two teens are in custody, accused of throwing golf balls off an overpass at passing vehicles.Nathaniel Jacubus, 19, and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody and charged on suspicion of throwing objects off an overpass, criminal mischief, reckless endangering, theft and criminal trespassing.Deschutes County deputies received a call shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday of someone throwing golf balls off of the Cline Falls Road overpass at Highway 126.Jesus Garcia Ramos, of Redmond, Ore., told deputies a golf ball had struck the front window of his 1999 Honda Odyssey minivan, breaking the glass and endangering his family.According to deputies, they saw a vehicle speed off at a high rate of speed when they arrived at the scene.The deputies stopped the vehicle a short time later, and located golf balls that matched the golf balls found at the scene.According to deputies, Jacobus and the teenager took approximately 100 range balls from Eagle Ridge driving range and dropped the balls as Ramos’ van passed.Jacubus was transported to the Deschutes County Jail and is being held on $23,000 bail.The teen was transported to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Center.
