Dumpster Beagles To Start New Life In PDX

Eight beagles found in a Dumpster near an animal shelter in Hamilton, Ill., will be flown to Portland, Ore., to start a new life.

Cascade Beagle Rescue, a Portland based nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of beagles, was contacted by a shelter worker pleading for help to save the 8 beagles that she found in a Dumpster outside the shelter.

These dogs range in age from 8 weeks to 5 years and were destined to die if not for the collaborative effort.

Susan O'Brien, VP of Cascade Beagle Rescue, found a way to get all eight beagles to Portland aboard an American Airlines flight.

A PetSmart store manager in St. Louis, Missouri, gave a full donation of airline kennels to ensure a safe flight for the beagles on Wednesday’s flight.

Cascade Beagle Rescue is in need of contributions for the care of the beagles until they can be adopted.
