Woman Posing As Landlord Arrested Again

POSTED: 7:25 pm PST November 14, 2007
UPDATED: 9:15 am PST November 15, 2007

A real estate fraud suspect was arrested for the second time in a one-month span Tuesday.

Lynne Sisto, 33, has been linked to several cases of fraud in connection with real estate transactions.

Police said Sisto contacts potential victims who are looking for a home to rent or rent to own.

She represents herself as a person owning property she doesn't own and then obtains rent money and deposits from perspective renters, according to police.

Police said victims often don't realize the fraud for several weeks. During that time, they recommend her to other people who sometimes become victims themselves, according to police.

Last month, she was arrested after being accused of posing as a real estate investor who recently purchased several Portland homes.

Since Sisto's initial arrest, detectives continued to investigate the case.

They arrested her again Tuesday on four additional counts of aggravated theft and six additional counts of theft.
