VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Mourning turned into disbelief at a Vancouver funeral Saturday when people attending the funeral learned thieves broke into six cars during the service. The break-ins happened in the parking lot of the People’s Church on East Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver. Some of the guests said they think thieves knew when and where to strike because funeral services are listed in the newspaper and online.“It looked like they hit more cars that weren’t from Washington, knowing that they might have traveled and could have more in their car,” said Sharon Garballo, who attended the funeral.Garballo said a woman who drove to Vancouver from California had her purse and $600 stolen.Kelli Hickey noticed a suspicious looking man before the funeral, but she said she didn’t think twice about it until after the break-ins.Vancouver police are investigating the thefts, but because there’s no surveillance video or suspect information, they don’t have any leads.Anyone with information is asked to call Vancouver police.
